Overview

Join to apply for the Fitness Team Members role at Napier City Council on a casual basis. Napier City Council is looking for energetic and experienced fitness professionals to join our Fitness Network team. This is a casual opportunity with flexibility to work during the week or weekend, and with support from a Team and Manager for growth and development.

As a Fitness Team Member, you’ll deliver exceptional fitness experiences to our diverse community, inspiring and motivating members to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

• Be friendly and approachable, help with gym equipment and offer advice for all gym enthusiasts from beginners to experienced.
• Run group fitness sessions — lead a range of programs including HIIT, circuit training, Les Mills classes (if certified), small group and online workouts, and Function Fitness sessions.
• Prepare and manage sessions — set up / set down and organise equipment, stick to scheduled times, and clean / store equipment after use.
• Ensure gym areas are supervised at all times.
• Work with the team to support booking in clients, nutrition sessions and consultations.
• Connect with wider staff and report emergencies or issues in a timely way.

About You

This is a casual opportunity working on an as-needed basis across Ocean Spa and the Napier Aquatic Centre.

Base rate ranges from $27 - $31 per hour, with allowances (PT Allowance ranges from $11 – 15 per hour and Group Allowance ranges from $38 - $50 per hour).

We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when the right candidate is found.
