Banking Specialist – Canterbury

Westpac New Zealand is looking for a dedicated Banking Specialist to join our Canterbury teams. You will help our customers build a better future by delivering lending, accounts, insurance, and everyday banking solutions with care, courage, and clarity.
Responsibilities
- Act as the go‑to expert in lending, nurturing trusted relationships with customers and community partners.
- Identify opportunities, offer tailored advice, and deliver seamless solutions using smart technology.
- Support the delivery of our day‑to‑day banking services, ensuring compliance with AML and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of credit risk, residential lending principles, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer needs and achieve branch performance targets.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in financial services with solid knowledge of AML and related regulations.Strong grasp of credit risk and residential lending principles.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.Tech‑savvy mindset and a passion for simple, smart solutions.NZ Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 (Lending strand) is a bonus.Tertiary qualification in Business or Finance preferred.Strong local connections or the drive to build them.Benefits
