RN Team Leader - Operating Theatres at Allevia Hospitals (Epsom) – a new position due to service growth and the opening of 10 state-of-the-art operating theatres.

This is a full-time 1.0 FTE role, working afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, 12 : 30–21 : pm – 9.00pm). Hours may change in future according to business needs. This is a great opportunity for a perioperative RN looking to take the first step into a leadership position. The role blends people management with operational leadership, with you acting as the clinical expert and the go-to person on your shift.

Responsibilities

  • Running the department in the latter hours of the day
  • Directing workforce utilisation
  • Providing on-floor support for staff and specialists
  • Ensuring efficient communication with wards, external couriers, main reception, cleaners, blood bank, pathology, and other teams
  • Planning for the next day and coordinating operating room activities

To Succeed You\'ll Need

  • Strong experience as a theatre RN scrubbing for a variety of surgical cases (e.g., General, Orthopaedics, ENT, Plastics, Cardiac) within a NZ hospital or similar environment
  • Experience supervising OR services and / or people
  • Strong coordination and delegation skills; the ability to think on your feet and make effective decisions
  • A positive attitude and professional maturity
  • Ability to build positive relationships with all Operating Room staff including Surgeons and Anaesthetists
