Senior Business Development Manager – Auckland, NZ. Hybrid role, split between work from home and our modern central Auckland office. Be among the first to connect with Convera's clients and prospects to grow our business.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with business prospects on behalf of Convera to attract and maintain new clients.
- Influence stakeholders from startup owners to CFOs / CEOs of large corporates, advising on currency requirements, risk profiles, and payment solutions, progressing toward sustainable, profitable trading relationships.
- Account management—attract new business and manage new customers through to the transition stage to our dealing desk.
- Prospect and engage new prospects through proactive activities, attend industry and regional networking events, manage leads through the sales process, client setup, and early transactions. Tailor prospecting to geography and / or industry specialization.
- Maintain and develop knowledge across specific industries or regions as a subject matter expert; work with internal teams to provide tailored solutions and articulate how products and services solve client challenges.
- Maintain understanding of the payment industry, compliance, legislative requirements, and broader business / economic landscape to anticipate client needs; collaborate with internal relationship teams to close opportunities.
- Identify and develop key referral partnerships and circle-of-influence relationships with organizations, partners, and advisors of prospective clients.
Ideal Qualifications
B2B sales experience (4+ years).Preference for candidates with prior experience in the payments / FX industry due to seniority in NZ sales.Strong communication and presentation skills across media; proficient with technology (MS Office, web conferencing, search engines, reporting tools, and sales platforms such as Salesforce).Demonstrated success in new business sales in a fast-paced environment with a track record of meeting targets and deadlines.Experience identifying and managing new pipelines, progressing opportunities, and closing deals.Strong understanding of top-of-funnel development, consultative sales, executive negotiations, and long-term client relationships. Independent self-starter with a tenacious approach to acquiring new business and the ability to work autonomously while coordinating with internal account managers.Financial acumen with awareness of business needs and the commercial impact of global events.Proven experience selling into mid-market and corporate organisations.Current permanent working rights in NZ.About Convera
