Senior Front-End Software Engineer (Contract)

We’re looking for an immediately-available Senior Front-End Engineer to join our Clinical Portal team on a three‑month contract (with potential for extension). This role is open to both fixed‑term employment and independent contracting arrangements.

The Clinical Portal is a secure, web‑based platform that gives clinicians a unified, intuitive view of a patient’s health record, integrating data from multiple healthcare systems. You’ll play a key part in enhancing its front‑end experience—ensuring it remains fast, accessible, and beautifully designed for healthcare professionals around the world.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and development of scalable, high‑performance front‑end solutions using React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with UX designers, product owners, and back‑end engineers to deliver new features and UI improvements.
  • Champion accessibility, usability, and front‑end best practices across the product.
  • Guide technical decisions, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor other engineers when required.
  • Deliver high‑quality, production‑ready code within a dynamic, Agile environment.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience : 5+ years as a front‑end or full‑stack engineer, with a strong focus on front‑end architecture and UI development.
  • Technical skills :

    • Advanced skills in React, TypeScript / JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS (or CSS‑in‑JS).

  • Experience with automated testing tools (Jest, Cypress, or Playwright).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integration within complex systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS, CI / CD pipelines, and accessibility standards (WCAG) is a plus.
  • Mindset : Pragmatic, collaborative, and delivery‑focused. You can hit the ground running, work independently, and make meaningful contributions quickly.
