This is a key role that will require strong leadership and initiative as you manage both the retail and volunteer aspects of the store, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community and animal welfare.

This role is ideal for someone with significant retail experience, particularly in second-hand or charity shops, who can work independently and thrive in a dynamic, community-focused environment.ABOUT THE ROLEWe have an exciting opportunity at our new Mangere Bridge SPCA Op Shop for a : Op Shop AssistantPart-Time (13 hours per week)Sunday 8 : 45am to 2 : 15pm & Monday 8 : 45am to 5 : 15pmKey ResponsibilitiesWork sole charge on rostered days, taking full responsibility for daily shop operations.Receive, sort, price, and merchandise donated goods in line with SPCA guidelines.Ensure the shop is clean, welcoming, and well-stocked throughout the day.Serve customers with warmth and professionalism, promoting positive donor and shopper experiences.Accurately process sales and cash handling, including end-of-day reconciliation.Provide cover and basic team supervision in the manager's absence.Help support and guide volunteers in their roles.Ensure health & safety and SPCA procedures are followed.Want more details?

Whether it's pricing donated goods, helping customers, or supporting volunteers, you enjoy pitching in wherever needed to keep things running smoothly.Skills & ExperienceRetail or customer service experience (charity retail a bonus).
