Are you a confident communicator with strong analytical skills and a knack for turning complex legislation into practical solutions?

We're looking for a Licensing and Compliance Advisor to provide technical expertise and specialist support across our Licensing and Compliance functions including :

  • General bylaw enforcement
  • Animal control
  • Alcohol and Food licensing
  • Regulatory administration and consent lodgement

In this role, you'll work closely with our Licensing and Compliance Manager and Team Leaders, supporting a diverse range of activities — from providing robust technical advice to managing complex cases and ensuring our processes run smoothly.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Providing high-quality technical advice and guidance on Licensing and Compliance issues.
  • Supporting the resolution of escalated requests for service and contributing to sound, evidence-based decision-making.
  • Reviewing and streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Assisting with complex cases and investigations
  • Preparing responses to LGOIMA requests and other statutory requirements.

    You’re an organised and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You bring a mix of technical know-how, communication, and curiosity to continually improve how we do things.

    You will have :

  • A sound understanding of local government operations, legislation, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation in a regulatory or compliance environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters clearly.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective processes and drive continuous improvement.
