Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is looking for a dedicated Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to champion wellbeing and ensure safe practices across our organisation.This role plays a vital part in maintaining strong health and safety systems, coordinating emergency preparedness, supporting property risk management and contributing to a positive, culturally inclusive workplace.
You'll work closely with staff across multiple sites, helping embed proactive health and wellbeing practices, train staff and support ongoing compliance with New Zealand H&S legislation.
This is a permanent, fulltime role based in Tamaki Makaurau and reports to the Heath, Safety & Wellbeing Lead who is based in Otautahi.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and enhance health and safety systems; coordinate emergency preparedness; support property risk management; contribute to a positive, culturally inclusive workplace; work with staff across multiple sites; embed proactive health and wellbeing practices; provide training and support ongoing compliance with New Zealand H&S legislation.QualificationsA qualification in Health & Safety (or similar)Practical knowledge of H&S in a school or multi-site settingGreat communication and problem-solving skillsConfidence working cross-cultural, especially in bicultural and Deaf contextsA willingness to learn NZSL and engage with Deaf cultureWhat We OfferYou'll bring a proactive mindset, strong administrative and organisational skills, and a commitment to supporting the wellbeing of both staff and akonga.
