About the role
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Service Manager – Transport Safety to join our Infrastructure Group within the Transport and Developments Division.
In this key role, you’ll ensure the city’s traffic management and road safety infrastructure meet the highest standards, contributing to a safe and efficient transport network for all users. You’ll provide expert advice in traffic engineering, lead road safety planning and data analysis, and oversee the implementation of safety improvements across the city.
Working closely with the Activities Manager – Transport, NZTA, and other partners, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and delivering safety-focused programmes and projects that align with Council and national safety strategies.
This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You’re an experienced transport or traffic engineer who’s passionate about improving safety outcomes for all road users. You combine strong technical knowledge with a proactive, collaborative approach and can balance strategic planning with hands-on project management.
