About the Role
The Christchurch Alcohol and Drug Service located at
Hillmorton Hospital provides specialised clinical work with consumers
experiencing co-existing alcohol and / or drug dependence and moderate to severe
mental health needs.
We are seeking a Social Worker who will add value,
expertise and energy to this stable and cohesive team.

About You
In this role, you will be :
in MDT assessments, treatment planning, reviews and discharge planning.
to sustain professional boundaries and attend supervision to maintain
empathetic care.
patient rights, through holding a broad knowledge of legislation
a good working knowledge of community and internal support services and
government agencies that best meet patient and family / whanau needs.
a good understanding of the interface between Specialist Mental Health
Services and other government agencies like, Department of Corrections and
Ministry of Health.Skills and experience
ability to apply a social work perspective (frameworks, practice models)
to understand a person's needs.
understanding of Te Tiriti and knowledge of kaupapa Maori practice models
ability to develop effective therapeutic relationships.
ability to work collaboratively with the person, their family / whanau and
the clinical team.
ability to prioritise and plan your workload-based on the service needs.
ability to advocate for the person and challenge discriminatory attitudes
