About the Position :

The Food Division operates a modern laboratory in Hamilton that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology.

They’re seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Dairy team in a 1-year parental leave cover. This hands-on role includes preparing and dispatching samples, maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment.

Ideally, you’ll have a science qualification or lab certificate, strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and client service. Experience in a high-throughput lab environment is preferred.

This is a 1 year fixed-term position; Monday to Friday 8AM to 4 : 30PM.

• Weighing, preparing and extracting of Dairy sample for analysis
• Preparation of calibration standards and reagents
• Ability to continually learn and improve processes
• Maintain quality and data integrity within the laboratory
• Ensuring client turnaround times are met
• Ensuring the laboratory operates in an efficient and safe manner
