Spectrum Care is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker for Birkdale House in North Shore.

The role supports adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, ensuring a calm, safe environment and fostering independence.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with feeding, bathing, toileting and personal care.

Prepare and support the preparation of nutritious meals.

Encourage and support participation in daily activities and community engagement.

Maintain a calm, respectful environment and ensure safety at all times.

Communicate effectively with residents, families and multidisciplinary staff.

Ideal Candidate

Empathy for the challenges of living with a disability.

Calm, resilient and calm in all situations.

Strong communication skills – verbal and written English is mandatory.

Willingness to support motivation with daily living skills.

Full New Zealand driver's licence and pass a New Zealand police check.

Ability to use a computer (Word, Internet Explorer, email).

Interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification.

Requirements (Non-Resident)

Three years experience in the care workforce or a minimum level 4 qualification on the NZQCF.
