Product Owner Senior Lead

QBE Insurance , Auckland, New Zealand – Full-time Permanent.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Lead cross‑functional agile teams in translating business goals and customer needs into user‑focused digital solutions.
  • Define value stream vision and requirements based on customer needs and business objectives.
  • Own the product roadmap, prioritise backlog items, and lead agile delivery teams to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Manage implementation plans, including resource capacity and budget.
  • Maintain and improve understanding of user needs, motivations, and behaviours to influence rewarding customer experiences.
  • Communicate progress through showcases, stand‑ups, and visual boards.
  • Deliver business initiatives outside of process improvements as part of the Process Excellence Squad.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experienced leader with a track record of delivering projects and guiding agile teams.
  • Expertise in technology, systems, and process change.
  • Hands‑on experience with agile practices (SAFe preferred).
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence and Azure DevOps.
  • Proven ability to create and execute business plans and roadmaps.
  • Strong background in business process optimisation.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and prioritisation skills.
