NEUTRON

Rocket Lab’s Neutron team is responsible for bringing our new large rocket Neutron and its launch and test sites to life. From designing and testing Neutron’s structures and components, to firing up its new Archimedes engines, to setting up Neutron’s launch pads and test sites across the United States, joining the Neutron team is your opportunity to help launch a new large rocket for the very first time.

Neutron is a medium lift launch vehicle capable of delivering the mega constellations of tomorrow, high assurance payloads, and human spaceflight. As a highly reusable launch platform, Neutron will deliver a highly cost-effective and reliable launch solution leveraging Rocket Lab’s proven execution history with the Electron program. WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO :

The Neutron Avionics Development Technician works at the intersection of avionics development and vehicle integration. This role will work closely with system Responsible Engineers across assembly, testing, qualification and integration of flight article subassemblies for Neutron. This includes first article builds where component designs and methods of manufacture are not yet solidified, requiring the Technician to think critically and suggest improvement ideas to Development and Manufacturing Engineers. The successful candidate will be a multi-discipline problem solver who can blend agility with process and has an extreme eye for detail.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Relevant industry experience :
  • Technician : 5+ years
  • Senior Technician : 8+ years
  • Hands-on experience in Avionics component fabrication, integration or test
  • Demonstrated skills in working at pace in an R&D environment

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE :

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in :
  • Assembly and installation of avionics components
  • Wire harness installation and fabrication (crimping, soldering and tie-in)
  • Mechanical component assembly and installation
  • Functional testing of components and systems using specific equipment and software driven tests
  • Use of wire strippers, torque drivers, milliohmeters, multimeters, power supplies, etc.
  • System-level fault finding
  • Developing fit-out procedures and documentation
  • A demonstrated ability to work under high time pressure without compromising quality of output
