Pirongia School is seeking a passionate and creative soft materials teacher to join our EXPLORE programme. Our EXPLORE programme is a within school technology programme that we offer to our Y7 and 8 cohort, delivering engaging and hands‑on learning on Thursdays for 30 weeks of the year. Perfect role for the person looking for a variety of part time roles.

Key responsibilities :

Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in soft materials , with a focus on sewing and wearable arts
Foster creativity and practical skills in students through a variety of projects
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with colleagues to support the technology curriculum and ensure student success
Maintain key materials and resources for this programme – e.g. sewing machines.

We’re looking for someone who :

Has experience or a strong interest in teaching soft materials at the intermediate level

Brings creativity, organisation, and a student‑centred approach to their teaching

Is able to build strong relationships with young learners and work effectively in a team

Holds current teacher registration in New Zealand.
