About the role

Kia Ora! We’re On The Lookout For Senior Software Engineer – Integration To Join Our Digital Transformation Team. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance integration solutions that power Heartland’s Digital Automation & Transformation Program. You’ll enable seamless connectivity between systems, services, and platforms, ensuring the successful delivery of digital initiatives like origination, servicing, and AI-enabled squads.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend systems using Java (8+) and Spring Boot
  • Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Create and maintain CI / CD pipelines with Azure DevOps
  • Implement identity and access management using Azure B2C
  • Secure and expose APIs through IBM API Connect
  • Package applications with Docker and deploy on OpenShift
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for relational databases
  • Ensure quality through unit and integration testing (JUnit, Mockito)
  • Collaborate in Agile squads and drive best practices through code reviews
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk is a bonus

With strong communication skills, you’re a pro. You’re a seasoned backend engineer with a passion for building integration solutions that are secure, scalable, and future‑ready. You thrive in fast‑paced environments and love solving complex technical challenges.
