The Role Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Ourbespoke service is currently supporting three guests, each with their ownunique journey. One of our guests requires specialised care due to complexphysical and mental health needs, which include wheelchair utilization andmanual handling equipment.

As a support worker some of yourresponsibilities may include :

  • Supporting people with budgeting
  • Comprehensive note taking and handovers
  • Supporting people regain their mental health and independence
  • Provide culturally competent care
  • Support people with independent daily living skills
  • Support with cleaning, cooking, gardening or helping out with everyday household tasks.

While the people you support are asleep, you will be kept busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining things like filing, first aid kits, emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.

We have a 2 x full-time positions available :

Tuesday to Saturday 7.00am - 3.30pm

Sunday to Thursday 7.00am - 3.30pm

You Mōu :

  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • A current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be currently studying towards this qualification or a recognised equivalent.

Alternatively, you will commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement.

Pathways offers significant support for support workers to complete this study.
