Part-Time Nursing Associate

An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Ash Surgery for a qualified Nursing Associate to join our friendly and supportive GP practice in the village of Ash, near Canterbury.

The practice has just under 5000 patients and the team includes 5 GPs, 1 paramedic practitioner, 1 advanced nurse practitioner trainee, 1 practice nurse and 2 health care assistants with a supportive and experienced admin team.Main duties of the jobYourprimary responsibility is the delivery of practice nursingservices, working as part of our multidisciplinary team, deliveringcare to our patient population within your scope of practice.

As the nursingassociate, you would have some knowledge across the field of nursing, providingholistic and person-centred care and support for people of all ages.

Supported by a senior nurse within the practice, they will delivercare within the boundaries of their role, focusing upon supporting patients tobe healthy, monitoring of long-term conditions, health prevention and screeningactivities.

They will work collaboratively with the general practice team tomeet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures,and providing nurse leadership as required.

In addition, the post-holder willbe required to support the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the strategicobjectives of the practice are met.Main duties of the jobAssistingand performing routine nursing tasks which are related to patient care.Thenecessary training to allow you to undertake adult and child NHS immunisation programmesand perform cervical screening.Performing competencies in venepuncture, ECG's, Spirometry, wound care management.Tosupport chronic disease management.Providegeneral health promotion and NHS Health Checks.Tobe able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) and automated Defibrillatoraccording to current UK guidelines, training and updates will be providedannually.About usOur practice teamis made up of both clinical and administrative staff, who work closely togetherto deliver care to our practice population.The clinical teamcomprises of GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners (Nurse,Paramedic, Pharmacist), Practice Nurse,Healthcare Assistants and Phlebotomist.The practiceoperates on a team based approach with regular meetings to share best practiceand ideas.
