The role is based at Wellington Regional Hospital,however the successful candidate will be expected to work across the greater Wellington region in line with a current change to establish a sub-regional ENT service.The position will involve a range of acute and elective general ORL surgery however application from a post-fellow or experienced surgeon with a sub-specialty area of interest, particularly in Otology, would be welcomed.Some undergraduate teaching is expected as well as supervision and teaching of registrars in the otolaryngology training rotation.
Current recruitment to the sub-regional service will see the team increase to 11 surgeons.These include general otolaryngology, rhinology andanterior skull base surgery, otology, lateral skull base and acoustic neuromasurgery, cochlear implantation, paediatric otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.
We work in close collaboration with oncology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, paediatric and neurosurgery services.
Suitable candidates will have opportunities for research and district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region.
We operate three hospitals - Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in - as well as the Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
