Full-time, permanent position based at Hamilton District Court, with community visits across the region.
Opportunity
As a visible role within the community, you will actively engage and collaborate with local iwi, service providers, community groups and agencies to ensure accurate information is communicated to families and the court when appropriate.
You will build relationships between communities and the justice system, using your knowledge of Family Court and Judicial Services processes to facilitate access to justice.
While this position is based in the Hamilton District Court, you will also be required to work in the community on a regular basis.
This is not a standard 9-5 role; from time to time you will need to work weekends and outside normal hours to meet community needs.
Travel across your region will also be required to provide consistent, quality support to all communities across Aotearoa.
Key Responsibilities
Engage and collaborate with local iwi, community groups, and service providers.
Facilitate communication between families and the court, ensuring information is accurate and timely.
Advise and support families in navigating the Family Court system.
Build and maintain relationships between community partners and the justice system.
Coordinate travel and community outreach activities across the region.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working with community groups and a range of socio-economic family situations.
Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns, particularly Tikanga Maori.
Strong relationship-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including ability to explain complex legislation and documents.
A full driver's licence is required.
Technical knowledge of Family and District Courts is an advantage.
Self-management, independent working and collaborative teamwork skills.
Key Skills & Experience Include
Excellent relationship management skills.
High level of comfort working with Whanau, Hapu and Iwi.
Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues, particularly Tikanga Maori.
Technical knowledge and experience in Family and District Courts (highly advantageous).
Ability to understand and communicate complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical and business information.

Salary & Application
Salary : between $83,562 and $116,273, based on skills and experience.
