We require an inspiring and collaborative teacher to teach Science, including a range of junior and senior Science classes.

Committed to honouring Te Tiriti and embedding Matauranga Maori into your Science learning environment

A teacher who has high expectations of teaching and learning

Experienced in the delivery of Science learning

Practiced at establishing and maintaining professional relationships that focus on learning and the well-being of akonga

Committed to embedding literacy practices into learning opportunities to aid learning in Science.

Adept at designing and executing differentiated learning in the Science curriculum

Confident using technologies to enhance learning experiences

A teacher with strong organisational skills

Responsible to : Head(s) of Faculty(ies)

Key Tasks

To provide learning opportunities that equip students to be curious, confident, resilient, collaborative, innovative and empathetic.

To teach required subject(s) – Years 7-13 (classes to be confirmed every year.)

To use effective teaching and learning strategies that focus on knowing and engaging learners.

To contribute to the development and sharing of quality teaching and learning strategies and responsive programmes of learning.

To facilitate learning in an inclusive and positive environment that differentiates and responds to the needs, identities, cultures and passions of all learners.

To be responsible for the progression in learning and assessment of and for learning.

To attend relevant meetings and engage in professional learning opportunities.

To participate positively with the Rangi Ruru Professional Growth Cycle withing our Professional Learning Community.

To model and uphold the Professional Teaching Standards and Code of Conduct.

If appropriate, to engage positively in the Induction and Mentoring programme for Provisionally Registered Teachers.

To effectively report on student achievement and progress to parents / caregivers.

To provide opportunities for learning that develop the Rangi Ruru Graduate Dispositions in our learners.

To contribute to the pastoral care and mentoring of students by being a Form Tutor.

To contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.

Be energetic and enthusiastic.

Have the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a strong team.

Have knowledge of current educational thinking and developments.

Have a thorough understanding of the NZ Curriculum, NCEA and Scholarship.

A competent user of ICT tools and strategies to enhance learning.

Effective personal management skills.
