The Role :

The purpose of the role is to lead and oversee the quality assurance and control functions within the valuation process, ensuring all outputs meet regulatory standards, company policies, and industry best practises.

This role is responsible for developing and refining valuation methodologies, validating models and data sources, and resolving discrepancies to uphold the integrity and accuracy of valuation outcomes.

It plays a key part in mentoring valuation teams, driving continuous improvement, and implementing automated and streamlined processes to enhance operational efficiency.

The role also ensures compliance with relevant legislation, manages valuation-related risks, and maintains robust documentation and audit trails.Effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, auditors, and internal teams, is essential to support transparency and confidence in valuation practices.

Specifically, this role will :

Ensure valuation processes meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

Implement and manage procedures such as sampling and peer reviews to maintain valuation quality

Review valuation models, assumptions, and data sources for reliability and validity

Conduct reviews of valuation techniques and results to ensure consistency and completeness

Provide guidance and training to valuation teams on quality standards and best practices

Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to valuation inaccuracies or non-compliance

Stay updated on changes in valuation standards, regulations and market conditions

Maintain detailed records of valuation procedures, validations checks, and QA activities

Drive innovation and improvement in valuation quality assurance practices

Oversee the integrity and quality of valuation data and supporting systems

Represent Opteon at OVG revaluation audits and external stakeholders meetings / functions

To secure this role you will need :

Registered Valuer (NZIV)

Degree in Business (Property) or equivalent qualifications

Interest in mentoring and supporting a high performing, committed team

Working knowledge and application of relevant legislation and NZIV requirements / guidelines

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to thrive as a team and independently

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong commitment to customer service
