About the Role

The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting the project manager in the development and delivery of an important building works project and associated deliverables.

This role requires functional mastery in project planning and execution, stakeholder management, resource management, risk management, financial management, reporting, documentation, and supply chain management to ensure successful project outcomes.

The position is a 24-month fixed-term based at our Wellington Head office.

Key Responsibilities

Provide critical support to complete the planning and implementation of a significant and important building works project across multiple offshore embassies.

Be part of a project team where planning skills, attention to detail, and understanding of the construction process are critical to success.

Coordinate deliverables, track progress, and produce status reports for senior management.

Manage stakeholder engagement and maintain strong communication channels throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure compliance with financial, contractual and security requirements.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of successful project coordination or delivery of complex projects.

Experience in or affinity for planning and delivering property projects with a strong security overlay.

Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with peers and contributing to project-management best practice.

High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all deliverables.

Demonstrated ability to meet timelines, deliverables and objectives within budget.

A current or potential Top Secret security clearance.

Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi / Te Tiriti, Te Reo Maori and Maori customs and protocols is beneficial.

To be considered for this position at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade you must be a NZ citizen for 10 years and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
