About the opportunity - due to internal promotion
In this role, based in Christchurch, Wellington, or Palmerston North, you'll lead and manage a permanent team of five, along with around 20 subject matter experts contracted as trainers, while overseeing the delivery of essential training programmes that build capability and ensure the safety of the electricity transmission workforce.
Oversee and manage training delivery.
Develop, implement, manage, and assure training and learning / delivery compliance for the Private Training Establishment and Technical Training (of Transpower internal staff including Transpower System Coordinators).
Ensure compliance with NZQA standards, team quality assurance frameworks, and Transpower service specifications and requirements.
Work closely with two Portfolio Managers and the delivery administration team to ensure developed courses are transitioned to 'business as usual' in a smooth manner.
Contribute to cross team leadership and planning.
Embed data evidenced practice and reporting.
Proactively identify and drive continuous business improvement, including process and system optimisation and the appropriate use of AI.

What you'll bring
With a data-driven, outcome-focused approach, you'll enjoy leading and managing at pace in a multifaceted role.
You'll also hold a qualification in education, teaching, or training, or bring significant equivalent experience.
Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate :
Extensive knowledge of adult education and best practice in vocational and workplace training and learning.
10 or more years of hands-on experience in a vocational training and learning environment.
5 or more years' experience in building and leading high-performing training and delivery teams.
Proven success in managing outsourced agreements and key vendors.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage positively.
