Purpose of the role We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Security Manager to lead our approach to keeping people and places safe.
This role ensures that systems, training, and kaitiaki practices are connected and effective, so that kaimahi and whanau feel secure and supported across all sites.
The role provides strategic advice and leadership across health, safety, and emergency management, ensuring Ngati Whatua Orakei meets legislative obligations, responds effectively to risks and incidents, and builds a strong culture of safety and wellbeing.
Nga tino pukenga / wheako | Qualifications & Experience Essential Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) or related field.
Proven experience in health, safety, and security management.
Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, emergency planning, and risk management.
Experience developing and implementing organisational HSE frameworks and policies.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice and build capability across an organisation.
Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance.
Strong communication and cultural competency.
Desirable Experience working in an iwi or te ao Maori context.

Mentor and support health and safety representatives and team members.
