The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the GFA Programme Manager will lead all aspects of NHG’s preschool and recreational gymnastics programmes. This position combines strategic programme management with hands‑on coaching and staff leadership.
You will oversee programme design, delivery, and innovation, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, inclusion, and child wellbeing across all GFA activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of recreational and preschool coaches.
- Deliver induction, training, and ongoing professional development for new and existing coaches.
- Act as the Safeguarding Lead for the club, ensuring all staff uphold best practice in child protection and safe sport standards.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of all GFA programmes, including preschool, recreational, holiday, and community classes.
- Contribute to and deliver coaching hours.
- Develop progressive, engaging lesson plans and training resources.
- Manage rosters, coach performance reviews, and professional growth plans.
- Collaborate with the CEO on budgets, KPIs, and strategic goals.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff to foster a positive, supportive environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming training space.

You are an organised, energetic, and inspiring leader who thrives on helping others succeed from developing confident young gymnasts to supporting new coaches as they grow. You balance creativity with structure and bring a strong understanding of both programme operations and people leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3 years experience in gymnastics coaching and programme management (GFA, WAG, or similar).Recognised gymnastics coaching qualifications (NZ or international equivalent).Understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and best practices.Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to plan strategically and manage multiple priorities.Confident using class management and scheduling systems.Current First Aid Certificate and Police Vetting required (or willingness to obtain).Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.What We Offer
