We’re Hiring : Home Coordinator – Youth Mental Health Respite

Location : Palmerston North, Manawatū

Employment Type : Full‑time, Tuesday – Saturday

About the Role

As a Home Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our youth respite home is a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. You’ll coordinate the home’s daily operations, support a team of Community Support Workers (CSWs), and work closely with rangatahi, their whānau, and external agencies to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of CSWs to deliver consistent, trauma‑informed care.

Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic home environment.

Coordinate support plans and ensure they reflect the unique needs of each rangatahi.

Support rangatahi to engage in community, cultural, recreational, and educational activities.

Manage administrative tasks, documentation, and household supplies.

Be a key point of contact for whānau, Oranga Tamariki, CAMHS and other stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

A strong understanding of youth development, trauma‑informed care, and mental health support.

Experience in residential or community‑based youth services.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice.

Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.

A full, clean NZ driver’s licence.

A relevant qualification in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4), Youth Work or willingness to work towards one.
