• The role
• This role leads one of the Computer Network Operations (CNO) infrastructure teams that support the GCSB's Intelligence activities. These teams are critical for the success of these activities and we need people who are passionate about infrastructure, systems engineering and cyber security.If you are looking for a role where you can lead a team responsible for the development of a system from design through to implementation, have the opportunity to be involved in hands-on technical work, solve technical challenges for our customers, and develop staff then this is the role for you!
• Key responsibilities
• We are seeking an Infrastructure Lead who is passionate about leading a team in the implementation of security in depth practices and researching innovative approaches to solving interesting technical challenges. You will also play a critical role in using your technical experience to deliver projects across a number of domains.Your ability to lead people will play a key part to your success in this role, from identifying training and development opportunities for staff through to stakeholder management. These key skills will ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of infrastructure capabilities to support GCSB's activities.While the role is extremely varied, some of the key duties include :
• Lead the development, implementation and support of systems across a range of capabilities and technologies such as cross domain platforms, testing infrastructure and information assurance systems
• Engage with stakeholders across teams in the branch and directorate to achieve their outcomes in support of GCSB activities
• Investigate new technology stacks to innovate and augment current systems; and
• Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers working to develop and implement capabilities that enable the conduct of operations at the heart of the New Zealand Intelligence Community.
• Who we're looking for
• 7+ years of experience as an ICT practitioner across multiple domains
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams with a focus on systems and infrastructure engineering
• Strong technical skills, with experience in areas like Linux, network administration, cyber security, virtualisation, or automation tools would be an advantage
• Before you apply
• Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.You must :
• Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 yearsORHold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
• Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
