Role Description
Torque IP is on the hunt for a talented ICT / Comms or Security technical engineer to join our growing team of subject matter experts in Auckland. The ideal candidate will have the capability to sit at the design table with architects and other building services engineers, collaborating with the wider Torque IP team, in offering valued advice on smart building technologies such as voice & data network infrastructure, security systems (CCTV, access control and intruder detection), IoT sensors, wireless networks, copper & optical fibre cabling infrastructure, emergency call / nurse call systems, audio visual (AV) systems, digital wayfinding, public address (PA) systems. Torque IP is realistic and realise that no one person will be a subject matter on all these building services technologies, so we are interested in talking to you if you are a subject matter expert in some or any of these technologies and are willing to learn the rest.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with architects and building services engineers to design smart building technologies; provide expertise on voice & data network infrastructure, security systems, IoT sensors, wireless networks, cabling infrastructure, emergency call systems, audio visual systems, digital wayfinding, and public address systems; stay current with fast-changing technologies and industry standards.
Qualifications
Over 10 years’ experience in a relevant field; solid understanding of related industry standards, building regulations, and local contractors, vendors, and distributors; tertiary or trade qualification preferred; ability to work autonomously and manage projects to meet customer deadlines; excellent written and oral communication skills; good working knowledge of Office 365, Revit, and Bluebeam packages (or willingness to learn); affinity for technology and ability to keep pace with a fast-changing world; vendor certifications for data cabling, security, IT network switching, wireless, or electrical qualifications highly regarded.

Applicants must be permanent residents or NZ citizens. The role is based in Auckland.
