WSP Napier is seeking a dynamic Work Group Manager – Buildings and Geotechnical to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of professionals.

In this pivotal role you'll oversee major infrastructure projects and drive business growth in a supportive, future-focused environment.

As a key leader in our Napier office, you'll manage a team delivering services across a wide range of infrastructure assets.

You'll play an integral role in ensuring successful outcomes for both regional and national clients, while fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.

Your ability to build and maintain strong client relationships will be essential in strengthening WSP's project pipeline and expanding our client base.

You'll also lead the preparation of key proposals and provide strategic project management leadership.

With your technical expertise, you'll ensure all work meets the highest standards and complies with relevant procedures.

What you'll do

Lead and manage the Buildings and Geotechnical teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Mentor team members, support career development, and raise the profile of the group nationally.

Act as Project Manager / Director, accountable for technical content, results, profits, and timely delivery.

Oversee project financials, risk management, and resource planning.

Drive business development, client management, and strategic planning for the Napier business.

Ensure compliance with professional standards, codes, and best practices.

Promote quality management and technical excellence in all deliverables.

What you'll bring

A bachelor's degree in a related discipline.

Minimum 15 years' relevant professional technical and people leadership experience in a Geotechnical Engineering or Building Engineering role.

Proven leadership and mentoring skills.

Strong project management and business development experience.

Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, legislation, and best practices.

High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a client-centric approach.

Current clean driver's licence.
