Whangārei Boys’ High School, the leading school for boys in Te Tai Tokerau, is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Science teacher to join our team in 2026.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position teaching across the Science curriculum, with the ability to teach at senior levels preferred, state specialist subjects. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, innovative, and able to deliver engaging and effective science learning within our experienced and collaborative faculty.

A strong commitment to restorative practices and culturally responsive and relational teaching is essential.

We are looking for a teacher who :

• Is passionate about engaging boys in science and fostering curiosity.
• Can teach across the Science curriculum, ideally with strength in biology and / or chemistry.
• Builds positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Contributes actively to the wider life of the school.

Annual remuneration is dependent on qualifications and experience and will range from $61,329 to $103,086 in ,accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (STCA). The actual base salary will be established through a salary assessment once the appointment is confirmed.
