This role

We’re looking for a driven, people‑focused Sales Manager who thrives on developing high‑potential salespeople into consistent top performers. You’ll lead a growing team of Account Executives focused on acquiring new customers in the SMB segment, driving growth in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Your key focus areas will be :

  • Drive new customer acquisition growth across the SMB segment in New Zealand—delivering consistent month‑on‑month revenue performance and exceeding new‑business targets.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high‑performing sales team, lifting individual AE performance and achieving 100%+ attainment across the team.
  • Improve sales efficiency and conversion, embedding structured sales methodologies and playbooks (SPICED, MEDDICC) to increase pipeline conversion rates and forecast accuracy.
  • Enhance cross‑functional alignment with SDR, Partner, and Marketing teams to boost lead generation and accelerate go‑to‑market execution across the region.
  • This will include :

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives to consistently exceed new‑acquisition and revenue targets.
  • Foster a performance‑driven, positive sales culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Implement and embed proven sales methodologies and playbooks to improve conversion, forecasting accuracy, and deal velocity.
  • Collaborate with SDR, Partner, and Marketing leaders on aligned GTM programs to drive lead generation and market expansion.
  • Analyse pipeline metrics and sales performance data to identify opportunities and coach accordingly.
  • Recruit, onboard, and ramp new sales talent as the team grows.
  • Contribute to sales strategy, process optimisation, and cross‑functional planning within the NZ Go‑to‑Market Leadership Team.
  • Who you are

    To thrive at Employment Hero, you’ll need to embody The EH Way—operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you’ll also bring :

  • 7+ years in B2B sales, including 5+ years as an Account Executive and 2+ years in sales leadership.
  • Proven success in a high‑volume, SMB new‑acquisition sales environment (SaaS / technology preferred).
  • A coach at heart—passionate about developing others and building high‑performing teams.
  • Experienced in implementing and driving adoption of structured sales methodologies (SPICED, MEDDICC, Challenger, Sandler).
  • Data‑driven, operationally disciplined, and comfortable working cross‑functionally to deliver business outcomes.
  • Strong communicator able to inspire, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
