UWCSEA has a vacancy for a Head of IT Infrastructure position.
The Head of IT Infrastructure is responsible for the provision, maintenance and renewal of the College IT network infrastructure and associated systems and services.
Together with the infrastructure team and third-party service providers they are responsible for ensuring a robust server and network infrastructure service to users, with a focus on reliability, cybersecurity and data protection.
They further oversee the provision of end-user support for hardware and network services.
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure they are a key part of the information technology provision and utilisation within the College.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the 24 / 7 management and development of all IT infrastructure, including WAN / LAN, Wi-Fi, data centres, servers (virtual and physical), storage solutions, identity management and associated environments.
Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all critical network services and systems across our two campuses.
Develop and execute the College cybersecurity strategy based on ISO
Lead the institution's cyber defence operations, including managing firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS), endpoint protection, vulnerability management and other approaches as needed.
Manage the College Security Operations Center (SOC) function with our partner.
Support the institution's data governance and protection programme in collaboration with the College Data Protection Officer, ensuring strict compliance with PDPA.
Lead IT incident response planning and execution, minimising the impact of any security breaches.
Develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap for infrastructure, security, and operations.
Oversee the institution's disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) plans, ensuring regular testing and updates.
Implement and manage robust data backup and recovery strategies for all critical systems.
Collaborate closely with other IT, academic and administrative leaders to understand their technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to network uptime, security posture, and help desk performance and use these to review and further improve services.
Manage the IT infrastructure budget, optimising costs while investing in technology that supports the institution's strategic goals.
Lead and mentor the IT infrastructure and support teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and outstanding customer service.
Manage relationships with key technology vendors, service providers, and partners.
Person Specifications
A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in network administration or related field.
A recognised qualification in one or both of Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Information Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Other relevant professional qualifications related to specific technologies.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in network infrastructure design, deployment, lifecycle management and operations in a large educational institution, SME, or equivalent, covering multiple locations.
