The opportunity
- We’re looking for an experienced Team Leader – Commercial Underwriting to guide our talented underwriters & strengthen relationships with our broker partners in Auckland & Northland.
- Grow & contribute to strategy, coach & develop your team, driving growth across Property, Motor, and Liability portfolios.
- You’ll have full support to enhance your leadership capability and technical expertise, while enjoying the hybrid working with only 3 days in the office
- Happy to talk flexible working.
Your new role
As our Team Leader for Commercial underwriting, you will :
Lead and inspire a team of commercial underwriters, providing technical guidance and coaching to support their growth.Oversee day-to-day underwriting activities, ensuring timely and professional service for quotes, renewals, and policy maintenance.Build strong, collaborative relationships with intermediaries and identify opportunities to grow our book of business.Manage a small portfolio of complex and larger accounts, applying your expertise to deliver tailored solutions.Work closely with internal stakeholders to drive operational excellence and deliver on strategic objectives.Please note : The recruitment process includes a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, two interviews (face-to-face or via Teams), and background checks.
About you
We’re looking for someone who brings :
Technical knowledge in commercial underwriting across Property, Motor, and Liability.A natural ability to lead, coach, and empower a team.Excellent relationship-building skills with brokers and stakeholders.A proactive approach to identifying growth opportunities and solving complex problems.Confidence in managing a portfolio of larger, more complex accounts.Skills :
