Job description

Join our busy Engineering Department at ANZCO Foods in the position of Engineering Planner. This is a permanent full‑time position reporting to our Engineering & Site Services Manager at our Canterbury plant on Seafield Road, Ashburton.

As our Engineering Planner, you'll be part of a supportive team responsible for managing the planning and scheduling of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance across the plant. This hands‑on role is designed to give you practical, real‑world experience in engineering operations and asset management.

This is an opportunity for an engineering graduate to join a busy Engineering team in a hands‑on role designed to give you exposure to real‑world engineering challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities will include :

  • Ensuring the weekly forecasting plan is available on time
  • Distribution of weekly forecasting work packs on time
  • Running and distributing reports required for effective planning and scheduling
  • Preparing shutdown plans for the process areas (Minor routine & Major for shut)
  • Conducting / Coordinating briefing sessions
  • Full utilisation of resources for maintenance work
  • Providing reports as required for internal and external customers
  • Planning the functions of the maintenance team to achieve effective completion of work
  • Promote a proactive safety culture within the team and with contractors

Skills and experience we are looking for :

  • Supervisory / maintenance knowledge
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical / Electrical Trade Certificate with a minimum 3 years post trade experience.
  • Financial skills including estimating, budgeting, forecasting, analysis & reporting preferable
  • A sound understanding of technical maintenance techniques
  • Understanding of production process including technical process and equipment experience preferable
  • Experience in shutdown and maintenance planning preferable
  • Experience with CMMS, MS project applications and Excel.
