Step into a leadership role where your passion for farming, people development, and research support will thrive.As the 2IC at Ashley Dene Research Development Station, you will support the Farm Manager in driving operational excellence, mentoring staff, and contributing to innovative research outcomes on a progressive dairy farm.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to make a meaningful impact in both commercial and research farming.The Ashley Dean Research and Development Station is a 470-cow farm located in Springston based on roughly 200 hectares.

The farm operates a 54-bale rotary shed and is irrigated by two pivots and a lateral irrigator.

Calving happens once per year in spring.Key tasks of the role include : Leading and motivating a team of three dairy farm assistants, fostering a positive team cultureManaging feeding systems, irrigation, and seasonal operationsSupporting milking, hygiene, and milk quality standardsAssisting with research trials and maintaining accurate recordsOperating and maintaining farm vehicles and machineryEnsuring environmental and health & safety compliancePermanent role, working an average of 45 hours per week (1.0 FTE) on a 5 / 2 roster based at Ashley Dene Research Development Station in Springston.This role offers a total remuneration package from $86,000 per annum, depending on experience (made up of base salary + accommodation allowance + clothing allowance of $520 / yr).
