Our financial services client is looking to hire a Principal Architect who will be responsible for driving the strategic design and technical delivery of our client's next-generation payments platforms.

As the architect, you will be shaping the future in key areas and other technology shifts.

This is a permanent role and will be based in Wellington.

Required Experience and Skills

8+ years of experience in a technical or solution architecture role within the banking, financial services, or FinTech sectors.

Extensive, hands-on experience architecting high-volume, highly available payment systems.

Experience with Core Banking Transformation or modernising payments systems

Proven expertise in modern architectural patterns including Microservices, APIs.

Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related containerisation technologies.

Demonstrable experience securing mission-critical applications and ensuring regulatory compliance.

In-depth working knowledge of the New Zealand local payments environment, including clearing systems and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
