About The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic and inspirational leader to join the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as
General Manager Networks
, leading the planning, delivery, and optimisation of electricity networks across southern New Zealand.
Reporting to the newly appointed CEO the GM Networks leads a team of 60+ professionals across engineering, planning, operations systems and major projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable energy delivery to communities.
Key responsibilities
Leading the strategy and execution of asset management and annual work plans
Overseeing major capital investments & network operations across multiple networks
Driving continuous improvement and innovation across network operations
Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including boards, regulators, and industry bodies
Contributing to strategic leadership as part of the SLT.
What you'll bring
Candidates of interest will point to extensive commercial and people leadership experience with a track record of building strong relationships and delivering results.
You will have :
A tertiary qualification in engineering (MBA or asset management qualifications advantageous)
10+ years' senior leadership experience in electricity distribution or similar capital-intensive industry
Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver complex projects
Deep understanding of regulatory environments and asset lifecycle management
Electricity sector experience is desirable but not essential.
