Wych is an open financial data company that helps organisations access, share, and use customer financial data securely and compliantly, through fast, API‑first, no-code / low‑code solutions. We’re driven by curiosity, creativity, and the belief that bold ideas can shape the future. We’re scaling quickly and need a dynamic General Manager to take the helm of our day-to-day operations.
This is a pivotal leadership role : a strategic partner to the CEO, the operational leader of the business, and a key driver of our fun, high‑performance culture. We are currently live in Australia and New Zealand; our new GM will play a key role in determining and driving our expansion into new strategic markets.
Please note that this role is remote, however the successful applicant must be based in Auckland to ensure close proximity to the wider team.
Operational Leadership
You’ll own the rhythm of the business — ensuring our operations run efficiently, consistently, and to a high standard. You’ll refine processes, implement scalable systems, and champion continuous improvement.
As the owner of our P&L, EBITDA, budgeting and forecasting, you will drive financial discipline, identify margin improvement opportunities, and ensure commercial decisions are made with clarity and confidence.
Commercial & Contract Management
You’ll oversee pricing, contract negotiation, onboarding, and renewals — ensuring we deliver on our promises while optimising commercial outcomes and managing risk.
You’ll build a high‑performing, accountable team grounded in trust, collaboration, and clear communication. Coaching, developing, and empowering people will be central to your success.
Growth Strategy & Business Development
Working alongside the CEO, you’ll help shape and execute growth strategies. You’ll partner with sales to uncover new opportunities, strengthen our value proposition, and position Wych for long‑term success.
You’ll ensure our customers receive exceptional service, our sales teams are backed by strong operational support, and our delivery is consistently high quality.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
You’ll maintain strong operational risk frameworks, compliance standards and practices — ensuring the business operates safely, ethically, and with integrity.
