Senior Test Analyst

OverviewJob Title : Senior Test Analyst (Manual Testing)Location : WellingtonContract Type : ContractAbout The RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Test Analyst with a strong background in manual testing to join our quality assurance team.

You will be responsible for end-to-end testing of complex enterprise systems and ensuring delivery of high-quality software solutions.

This role requires hands-on experience in SQL for backend validation, and working proficiency with Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, plan, and execute comprehensive manual test cases based on business and functional requirements.Work collaboratively with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders in large-scale, complex project environments.Ensure thorough test coverage across functional, integration, system, and regression testing.Use Azure DevOps for test case management, traceability, execution, and reporting.Perform detailed data validation and backend testing using SQL queries.Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and work closely with business users.Contribute to test planning, estimation, and risk-based testing strategies.Mentor junior testers and share best practices in manual testing approaches.

Skills And Experience7+ years of hands-on experience in manual testing within large, complex enterprise environments.Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).

Advanced skills in SQL for validating backend data and complex joins.Proven experience using Azure DevOps (Boards, Test Plans, Pipelines, Repos) for test lifecycle management.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in reviewing requirements and identifying edge cases.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to work on multiple projects and manage shifting priorities.

Desirable QualificationsExperience working in regulated sectors (e.g., Government, Healthcare, or Finance).

Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) is a plus but not mandatory.ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification.
