OverviewSenior Planner opportunity with Christchurch City Council.
The Resource Consent unit seeks experienced planners to respond to development challenges and manage a wide range of planning issues across the City and Banks Peninsula.
The city offers relocation support and a vibrant living environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide expert planning advice to customers, liaise with experts, and make recommendations on notified and non-notified applications (including land use, subdivision, and notices of requirement).
Manage complex applications, provide pre-application advice, attend hearings, and take appeals to the Environment Court.Make robust decisions on resource consent applications and act as a mentor to less experienced planners, with coaching as a core component of the role.About youA degree in urban / regional planning, resource management, or similar recognised by the New Zealand Planning Institute (in terms of eligibility for full membership).
Comprehensive knowledge of the Resource Management Act, District Plans, and the wider planning framework, with demonstrated experience in the resource consent process.Desire to develop leadership skills.A positive customer-focused can-do attitude.What's in it for you?
