- About the Role
- The nurses on Ward 10 are involved in pre and post operative care of thecardiothoracic patient, acute pain management with chest traumas, and ribfixation surgery.
We also are involved in the care of acute and electivecardiology patients who present with chest pain requiring cath lab procedures,TAVI - s, electrophysiology procedures, and heart failure management.You will be well supportedthrough our Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialists due to our widevariety of both medical and surgical skill sets.
About the ServiceWard 10 is a 27-bed ward and is one of our combined medical and surgicalwards which specialises in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiology.We care forpatients who have undergone either acute or elective cardiothoracic surgery,and cardiology procedures.
About youExperience in Cardiothoracic & Cardiology is essentialExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCan work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary teamAbility to work under pressureExcellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasksDemonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals.The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused.Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.We embrace a workforce thatis diverse and inclusive so that we are better positioned to understand andservice our community
