Step into a leadership role at Taranaki Base Hospitals ED Pharmacy Service.

We are seeking a motivated, proactive and enthusiastic Pharmacist to lead the development of the Emergency Department pharmacy service across both Taranaki Base and Hawera hospitals.

This position will work closely with Emergency Department staff, wider pharmacy team, and other specialist teams to play a key role in the development of the pharmacy service.

Our ED Pharmacy Service aims to capture patients early in their admission to hospital in order to optimise patient outcomes and encourage the safe and cost-effective use of medications within the ED environment and beyond.

You will have the opportunity to :

Provide clinical pharmacy expertiseLead the pharmacy ED team to provide a patient & whanau centred pharmacy serviceOversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy ED serviceLead pharmacy quality improvement initiatives based in the ED setting.Contribute to the education and training of pharmacy and other clinical staff membersSupport the growth and development of pharmacy ED team membersPromote safe medication practices and use of medication systemsPlease click here to view the job description.

About You

Ideally the candidate will have :

A minimum of 4 years experience in hospital pharmacy and previous experience working in the ED settingThe ability to lead, motivate and empower staffA strong patient and medication safety focusExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop trusting and collaborative relationships, and enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Completed relevant postgraduate qualification / sWorking at Health New Zealand
