Youll be known by name, supported by a team who cares, and mentored by leaders who invest in your growth. Many of our senior midwives started here as graduates. Youll be supported to grow, specialise, and lead. Our midwives can finish a shift and be on the beach, shopping, at the gym or their childs school play within the hour.

Support & Development

We are passionate about supporting newly graduated midwives. Our comprehensive Midwifery First Year of Practice (MFYP) programme includes :

• Dedicated mentorship and clinical coaching
• Pre-employment assistance

Our educators, clinical coaches, managers, and midwifery leaders are here to help you work at your natural best and leave each shift feeling valued and supported.

About the Service

Waikato Hospital is one of the largest hospitals on a single campus in the Southern Hemisphere. As a tertiary facility, we provide maternity care for over 3,500 births annually , and support an additional 2,000 births across our primary birthing units and rural communities.
