Full-Time Cook Wanted – New Plymouth

Guaranteed Minimum : 30 Hours / Week | Up to 45 Hours / Week

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Cook to join our team in New Plymouth . This is a permanent full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week , with hours potentially increasing to up to 45 hours per week depending on operational.  requirements. The pay rate would be $30 to $34 based on experience.

Job Description :

The successful applicant will be responsible for :

Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

Planning menus, estimating food requirements, and monitoring quality.

Inspecting and cleaning food preparation areas, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are maintained.

Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.

Training and supervising kitchen assistants or junior cooks.

Ordering food supplies and maintaining stock levels as required.

Requirements :

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR a relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or higher .

Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Strong time management and communication skills.

Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
