Salary : $ 83,195 - $ 110,000 + superannuation

The role | Te tunga

As Senior Advisor – Information Systems, you will report to the Unit Manager Data and Information Management and work in close partnership with the Data and Information Management team.

You will provide advanced operational support for information management systems and processes, bridging technical operations and advisory functions.

You will support the delivery of best practice data and information management, contribute to continuous improvement, and provide specialist advice.

You will coach and support junior team members, work closely with senior technical staff and partner with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.

The key to success in this role is being skilled at developing strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, listening carefully to understand needs and then finding mutually beneficial solutions that uplift information management practices.

The suite of MS365 tools and systems is evolving rapidly along with the need to integrate with other systems and platforms.

The position will require continuous learning and the ability to research problems and find innovative solutions.

Your Role Will Be To

Provide advanced Information Management System support – ensuring all systems related to information management are stable, secure and meet information management and Stats NZ requirements.

Maintain a variety of systems that support data and information management, contribute to regular projects to automate and / or refine processes and to develop solutions to issues.

Continually work towards automation and continual service improvement.

Mentor and provide support to other members of the team.

Partner with internal and external customers and stakeholders in order to provide best practice data and information management advice, support and system solutions that meets their needs.

Research complex issues and develop practical solutions to them.

Lead work in your practice area of information management systems.

What you bring | Nou te rourou

Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline such as information management or information technology.

Minimum 3 years' experience administering and leading the provision of Information Management services through MS365 tools.

Experience in operational support for information management systems.

Excellent customer engagement skills.

Ability to translate customer needs or requirements into practical initiatives.

Experience coaching or mentoring junior staff.

Written and oral communication skills suitable for a varied audience in a corporate setting.

Knowledge or commitment to developing understanding of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo, Te Ao Maori.

Demonstrated advocacy for, or support of, diversity and inclusion.
