Are you enthusiastic, motivated and keen to develop your pharmacy career? Come and join our A&B HSCP pharmacy team as a Band 6 pharmacist. The Mid Argyll and Kintyre area is situated in one of the most scenic parts of the West Coast of Scotland. There are great opportunities for exploring the outdoors with access to many local sporting events, including the Mid Argyll Triathlon and the Mull of Kintyre run. The beautiful islands of Arran, Jura, Gigha and Islay all have daily ferry services, offering day‑trips or weekend getaways. The main town of Oban is a 50‑minute drive from Mid Argyll.
This post will allow you to develop your clinical and non‑clinical skills in line with the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) post‑registration foundation programme. You’ll deliver complex person‑centred care across a range of settings, develop your prescribing capabilities and integrate with our pharmacy and wider multi‑professional teams. You’ll be supported by an educational supervisor throughout your training along with our experienced pharmacy teams.
The Mid Argyll, Kintyre & Islay pharmacy team provides clinical pharmacy input into mental services, community hospitals and GP practices. This post is based in either Lochgilphead or Campbeltown and will involve regular travel to both areas; therefore a full, current driving licence and use of own car for work purposes is essential. The rural nature of the posts provides variety and the opportunity to develop new skills. Please note the post is not suitable for routine remote working.
Qualifications
You must have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
