Prometric is an American company proctoring exams for a range of clients including English language (TOEFL), finance, project management, veterinary, dental, medical. AIS administers the only Prometric test centre in New Zealand.
Security is an extremely high priority to protect Prometric clients’ Intellectual Property. The administration area and candidate workstation area are under continuous camera surveillance, and camera footage for every test centre is audited regularly for irregularities.
This is a casual position with variable hours of work, varying depending on the duration of the exams being administered and the pre‑ and post‑exam checks required. Some weekend work may be required.
Objectives
To supervise candidates taking exams at the Prometric Test Centre and ensure compliance with Prometric standards and AIS policies. TCA must be reliable, patient, have good communication skills, and be observant.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise professional exams in accordance with Prometric requirements.
- Responding to candidate queries.
- Ensuring strict adherence to Prometric security protocols.
- Performing virtual and physical walkthroughs of the workstation area.
- Maintaining constant visual monitoring of candidates via cameras and observation windows.
- Providing a consistently high level of customer service.
- Filing online incident reports (CPRs) as required by Prometric management.
- Successfully completing the annual Prometric certification test.
- Preparing monthly rosters (typically two months in advance) and distributing them to Test Centre Assistants (TCAs), Test Centre Manager (TCM), security, reception, and the Campus Business Manager.
- Regularly updating the annual scheduling spreadsheet.
- Training staff to ensure all personnel, including the TCM, hold valid Prometric accreditation.
- Responding promptly to emails from Prometric Operations Specialists regarding requests to open the centre on additional days.
- Completing OPT‑IN rosters typically issued twice a year.
- Completing weekly quizzes and tasks sent by Prometric—these are mandatory.
- Managing the CELPIP exam, a recent addition to the Prometric test offerings.
- Performing any other duties as required from time to time.
- Complying with AIS policies and procedures.
- Adhering to all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
