As part of that growth, they're looking for an experienced and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Christchurch.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults across heavy construction equipmentPerform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel engines and associated systemsInspect, test, and assess machinery to identify issues and ensure reliable performanceUse diagnostic software and tools to determine equipment conditionsCarry out repairs on hydraulic systems, transmissions, and fuel injection componentsMaintain accurate service documentation and reportsFollow all safety procedures and comply with industry standardsWork closely with team members to meet equipment availability targetsProvide advice on repairs and preventative maintenance planningWhat we're looking for
Preference will be given to Diesel Mechanics with hands‑on experience in construction or earthmoving equipment, although candidates with mining or forestry backgrounds will also be considered.
Relevant automotive trade qualificationMinimum of 3 years' proven experience working on relevant heavy equipmentWTR endorsement and HT licence are an advantageStrong customer service and communication skillsSolid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy machineryAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and schematicsCompetent in the use of diagnostic tools and workshop equipmentStrong problem‑solving abilities with keen attention to detailComfortable working in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple tasksWhat's on offer
