Manaakitanga is one of MIT's values, we care and are passionate about our learner's wellbeing. This role is dedicated to collaborating with MIT services and relevant community agencies to improve access and utilisation of mental health support to increase our learner’s wellbeing. A strong focus will be on the development and delivery of wellbeing focussed initiatives and programmes involving whānau, and integration of Māoriand Pasifika values, beliefs, and cultural practices.
This fulfilling role is suited to applicants who bring emotional intelligence, cultural competence and integrity to engage, relate and make a positive impact on the lives and education experience of our students.
Key Responsibilities Include :
This is a full time fixed term role until December 2026, requiring a hands‑on energetic individual who embraces student life to drive and develop resources. We are seeking an applicant who ideally brings a relevant tertiary qualification or significant experience in mental health / wellbeing, pastoral care and youth / community leadership with experience working with at-risk groups and diverse communities. Preference will be given to those who have worked in a tertiary setting with strong communication and reporting skills.
